Weather-Ready Homes in Central Texas: A Builder’s Guide to Protecting Your Home
Central Texas is known for its “three seasons”—hot, really hot, and a few scattered weeks of cold. While it’s a local joke (because it’s true), our climate brings real challenges: sudden freezes, heavy winds, intense rainfall, and the annual deluge of pollen and leaves. These conditions can test even the most carefully built homes, including irrigation systems, exterior finishes, and mechanical equipment.
Below is a curated checklist to help you prepare your home for our unique climate. Even if some steps seem familiar, having a plan ensures that nothing important is overlooked.
The Difference Design Makes
Our firm is blessed to partner with some of the state’s best architects and interior designers. Every project, hopefully a perfect reflection of the needs, wants + personalities of our clients. This lovely property in Barton Creek is a great example of the labor of love through design, construction and execution for the loveliest of couples. Originally, they were worried they would need to tear down their home to turn it into all they hoped it could be. With some engineering, amazing design and wonderful trade partners we turned it into the home of their dreams.
The Beauty of a Before + After
A great project always starts as an idea. A vision cast over the perfect location, a wonderful neighborhood or a home with great bones can become everything you want it to be with a little imagination.
Onion Creek Oasis
This South Austin master bathroom remodel was a complete reimagining of our client’s space. We were able to wall off the water closet, gut and redo the master bathroom closet, open up the dark shower enclosure for a beautiful walk in shower with bench seat and install a gorgeous freestanding tub with a marvelous chandelier.
Lakeway Luxury
This Lakeway bathroom remodel was an upgrade from builder grade fixtures and vanities to gorgeous custom his and her vanities, a stunning walk in shower and free standing bath tub; all topped off with flawless finishes. The colors, lighting and opening up of their space proves that a well thought out design and carefully managed project can upgrade any space into one that elevates the value of the home and the enjoyment of the homeowners.
Zilker Retreat
This whole house remodel, nestled in the Zilker Park neighborhood, focused on preserving design elements the clients had their hearts set on. Specifically, reusing the stained concrete floors and custom matching the exterior paint color that captures the heart of Austin.
South Austin Modern
This South Austin remodel included the curated selections and beautiful finishes that helped the clients modernize their space, provide functionality for their growing family and invest in their home for years to come.
